Many of us (believers) don’t really understand who Jesus is, nor how to lead a lost Street witnessingsoul to Him.  We tend to talk using various degrees of Christianese, using terms and phrases that are foreign to non-Christians and new converts. We piously share doctrinal concepts in rapid succession seemingly clueless of our own non-sensical communication to the listener. Many of us don’t really comprehend the meaning of what we’re saying; but it sounds so good, and we’re praised by others for “knowing” something we really only ‘sound like’ we know.  Added to that, some of the things we’ve learned to do out of tradition are of no effect in the Kingdom of God. We need to stop hindering Kingdom advancement by continually promoting the traditions of men!

Romans chapter 10, in the “Easy To Read” version shares these truths:

1 Brothers and sisters, what I want most is for all the people of Israel to be saved. That is my prayer to God. I can say this about them: They really try hard to follow God, but they don’t know the right way. They did not know the way that God makes people right with him. And they tried to make themselves right in their own way. So they did not accept God’s way of making people right. Christ ended the law so that everyone who believes in him is made right with God.

If you openly say, “Jesus is Lord” and believe in your heart that God raised him from death, you will be saved. 10 Yes, we believe in Jesus deep in our hearts, and so we are made right with God. And we openly say that we believe in him, and so we are saved.

13 Yes, “everyone who trusts in the Lord[d] will be saved.” But before people can pray to the Lord for help, they must believe in him.

Is this not easy? Saints, we must concentrate on finding ways to share the simplicity of salvation with the lost.

The Word of God – that is the gospel, the good news – must be preached to everyone! If you don’t know it you can’t preach it! If you’ve been a follower of Christ for more than a year or so, you should be able preach the it wherever you go…no pulpit required; just a hungry soul willing to hear the word.
