Angel of the Lord, Christ, Luke 24, Mary Magdalene, resurrection, risen savior, why seek ye the living among the dead
Luke 24:1-12
The disciples had just witness the horrid death of their Lord, savior, rabbi, and leader. No doubt their hearts were greatly grieved. Then they learned that the tomb where our Lord’s body had been laid to rest was empty. Perplexed as they were, the angel of the Lord asked those who sought after his body, “Why seek ye the living among the dead?”.
How often do we go looking for life among dead circumstances? How often do we neglect to carry the living, rhema word of God into our situations because we insist on begging the dead thing, and the dead places, to come back to life as we knew them before. Imagine the defeat Mary Magdalene, JoAnna, and Mary the mother of Jesus would have suffered if they continued at the empty tomb instead of believing the current event of the moment: Jesus, our Christ has risen!
The women ran to share this news with the apostles, but in their grief the apostles could not receive it. But the words the of women were so full of anointing and conviction that Peter and John got up and ran to the tomb to see it for themselves.
Isn’t it time to stop moping over the old thing and break forth into a full sprint towards the new? Arise! Get up and get moving! Go make an assessment of the situation and allow the Spirit of the living God to show you where and direct you how to excel in the new!
